This donation is the end to the action “Recovery of Agriculture” in which “Delta Agrar” has given 190 tons of fodder to 7 municipalities which were hardest hit by the natural disaster: Paracin, Obrenovac, Trstenik, Bajina Basta, Krupanj, Smederevska Palanka and Valjevo. The value of this action is 50.000 euros while the total donation by “Delta holding” for relieving consequences of the flooding given in food, drinking water, clothes and cash has amounted to 438.000 euros. “The importance of the action “Recovery of Agriculture” does not lie only in donating fodder to farmers but also in the wish of “Delta Agrar” to contribute to the maintenance and improving the livestock in Serbia”, said Director of “Delta Agrar” Ivan Kostic. Pointing out that the development of economy in a country is measured by the share of livestock breeding in its production, Kostic has reminded that this share in Serbia is below 30% while it is as high as 50% in the most productive economies.
Farmers from all 7 municipalities have received important and useful advice from “Delta Agrar” experts about feeding livestock in the conditions marked by the lack of good-quality fodder as well as treatment of soil which has been under water for a long period of time. Having in mind that the natural disaster has caused worst damage to agriculture, “Delta Agrar” experts will go on advising our farmers in the oncoming period.
